currently running 4000 rpm at 60mpg not sure what the front sprocket is is this probably a stock setup i would like to be able to run 65mph or a little more at this rpm just seems like a lot of rpms to run down the road for a long time but i dont want gear to high for taking off from a stop any ideas?

The gearing for a stock KZ900 is 15t front, 35t rear and a 630 chain. You can play around with Gearing Commander ( www.gearingcommander.com/ ) to get a pretty accurate idea of what size sprockets you want. You can order a new chain and any size sprocket from Z1 Enterprises ( www.z1enterprises.com/catalog.aspx?pid=KZ900-B1-1976-MP0 ). Also, another popular mod is to convert to a 530 chain ( www.z1enterprises.com/reference/chain630to530.aspx ), but after 20k miles and no problems whatsoever, I'm still with my 630 chain.

I just got a new 630 X-Ring chain, 35t rear sprocket and a 16t front sprocket (plus one tooth) to knock my RPMs down while at speed. We'll see how it works out.

PS That's a nice looking bike! Is it an LTD or an A4 with an LTD seat?

It's an a4 with a ltd seat. I will be getting a stock seat at some point. Restored this from pretty bad shape for my 16 yr old son. Got a little more to do this winter. Right now I've got both boys (16 and 18) riding with me on there own bikes. It's Great. THX for the help guys!
