Finally, after having my set of Megacycle Cams (Grind # 478-60 with 410 lift) tuned up since 2006, I finally bit the bullet and installed them in my GPz550 Race Bike. Mild hand intake, exhaust, and combustion porting, Stock intake and valves, head shaved to remove the imperfections in the mating surface, but not machined to the factory limit step, Wiseco 615cc Kit, K&N Pod Filters, Moriwaki Race Exhaust.

Below is an I-Phone video of it running on the dyno, but dummy me bumped the volume control at the last part, so it goes silent, but plenty of sound:

Dyno Results are below, and because the print out doesn't show up very well with colors, I converted it to black and white, then added some color. End result 66.1 hp @ 10,000 RPM and 39 ft.lbs. of Torque between 7,500 and 8,000 rpm. That is about a 20% gain just by installing the cams and rejetting the carbs.

This is of the first run of the day, and the last comparisson:

Air/Fuel at Max Power, Run 1 and final after jetting:

Final Max Power and Tq, from when I first installed the CV30 Carbs with Stock ZX Cams to where it is now:

CV30 Carbs with Factory Pro Needles and Jets:
142 mains
Stock 35 Pilot
Needle Clip on #5 of 5(lowest setting)
Mixture Screws set to 4.5 Turns Out
Float Height Stock

For you engine goo-roo's I didn not measure the squish, but I did make sure there was at least .060" piston to valve clearence at TDC. I have .100". Lobe centers set to 105 Intake and 108 Exhaust as per Megacycle's Recommendations.

Enjoy!

To add to this, July 2nd I am planning on heading out to Sacramento Raceway to have some fun with this bike in the 1/4 mile. It's my brother's birthday, and he's bringing his 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200. Stock, my GPz will do 12.74 @ 104 mph all day long. A friend of mine would take his to the drags in New Hampshire, and run those numbers consistantly before he sold it a few years ago. I will have to report the times after that, but July is 3 months away.
