And damn, how did he got a peek inside the motor? All looks very genuine, the hollow cams are impressive. head is canda model, no exhaust air passages
Wonder where is this bike being worked on?

Awesome bike! Hard to tell from just the close ups if it's the real deal or a very nice replica - but I think it's a road going replica. It explains how he has pics of the inside of the motor, and the bike has an ignition key and a speedometer. Other giveaways would be handlebar switches etc... Rainey's race bike also had a dry clutch, exhaust was mounted with springs, and flat slide carbs.
He's definitely built that bike to high spec with some beautiful components.
I believe Yoshi made hollow core race cams?

Interesting weld up work on the intake side, any idea why that was done?

the only switch i see is the ignition and if i remeber the story right, it was kind of a nod of muzzy towards the fact the superbikes at that time had to be related to road bikes. still, too many details make it look like the real McCoy, those cams are very one off, eight plug heads, welded up triple clamps, canadian heads, adjustable/milled rear suspension link. If this guy went so far to build his replica, then its really hats off. Even the rust on some of the bolts would suggest that the bike is not new at all. puzzling.
The welding in the intakes was to have more room for the 31/33mm CR carb rubbers that have larger distance between screws. the Cycle mag muzzy built gpz750 had the similar work done there.

not that it matters much...this is one heck of a gpz 750....but i had a feeling it was a copy...
here are a few pics of one of the bikes..remember it evolved i believe constantly and was in a state of transition from track to track..
also it was crashed i think and re-done pretty heavily a few times
