I remember the magazines in the early '80's stating that one of the X type pipes didnt live up to it's claims or even match the stock bike IIRC)....cant remember which brand pipe OR which magazine, but it hardly matters since the claims are outlandish anyway. Maybe it matters less now anyway, in the 80's these pipes were supposed to make the fastest bike available even faster. Now if you want a faster bike you can just go buy one from the 25+ model years of development that have come since these pipes were originally marketed. If you like the looks and sound then I guess that may be a good enough reason to buy one.

I've seen this picture before, and each time I see it again I wish that I had more than 2 sets of exhaust to try out on my bike. ;)

Murray does make the best pipes for Z/KZ's IMHO and doesn't make wild claims like Mr.Campbell. When I bought my big tube spider pipe Dennis was very truthfull and said it would be OK but would work better with the big valve GPZ head I was building versus the MKll head that was on the motor at the time.He was absolutely correct.

His pipes for the 4valve ninja's worked great as well :) especialy if you added a rack of CRS33 Keihins. Worked good with jet kitted stock CVK Keihins also but the acceleration was nowhere near what the CR / Murray combo was....

Not at all! He is way cocky in his ad and I simply mimicked his style. beside, put it this way. If the company that makes a product you wanted claimed that every other comparable product is a lie or a sham and therefore junk, would you be just curious or would you expect them to back up their claims? Now you are a bit upset because they are telling you you spend x number of dollars over the last 20 years on junk so you go to your dealer and ask them to show you the product and prove that it works before you spend your money again.

Would you expect the dealer to jump on you and throw you out of the store, or be the professional he's supposed to be and PROVE you wrong while proving himself right????

That's pretty much what I did but he didn't hold up his end. Totally unprofessional.

Found this link, another forum and a user emailed him but actually got some good info. If you can read past the ramblings it will explain a little bit about what makes that pipe different from ufo's.

And I wonder how much that eBay listing will get up to... Only $50 now but allready 7 bids.
