Miles b4 first oil change?

Any thoughts on how many miles I should put on the new rebuild before changing the oil/filter for the first time? 50 miles? 100 miles? Did hone, new pistons & rings? Thanks.

I would go 500 miles.

If the motor was fully rebuilt (meaning bottom end & head) I would go 100 miles. If it was only jug and pistons then 500 should be fine.

the rings are going to be seating so id go 50 miles and dump the oil ,check the oil and filter real good for metal shavings if it looks clean run it another 500 and change it. if everything looks good start your regular oil changes after that.i know its a pain in the ass,but oil and filters are cheap. goodluck,happy wrenching!

I always change mine at 25 miles then again at 500 miles.
