1979 KZ650
01 Apr 2006 08:43
Hello,
This may be in the wrong topic area,I apologize in advance if it is.
I have a 79 KZ 650 that Iam going to rebuild and modify a little. I do not have a total plan as of yet. Some of what I would like to do is:
1. Remove the instrument cluster, turn signals etc.
2. Add drag type bars
3. change the exhaust
I also would like to put a foot clutch and jockey shift on it, if possible.
Any advice, tips, tricks ideas?? I'm open to suggestions
Thanks,
Andy
P.S. As soon as I can I will post some "before" pictures.

Welcome Andy.
1. Turn signals and some of the other non essentials (fenders, grab bars, center stand, etc) can easily be remove, but you may want to keep your intruments so you can see your speed and engine rpm, but again not essential (unless some of these things are necessary for a safety inspection).
2. Bars are one of the first to be changed from stock.
3. Exhaust changes will most likely need carb jetting changes as well.
I've never seen a foot clutch on a KZ, but anything is possable if your handy.
Read through past posts and the Archives as lots of mods have been discussed through the years.
And yes pix will help us to see what your starting with and where you want to go.
Have fun and ride safely.
