I have a 1982 kz1000 CSR. Are my exhaust pipes a 1.5" size? I want slip ons that will fit 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" pipes - will this work?

And... how easy of a job is attacing slip ons? Is rejetting neccesary?

I know that sometimes re-jetting is a neccesity. What is rejetting? I dont know? It is one of those things I'd like to know what it is and if I can do it myself if need be.

I don't know the size of your header. Give it a guick measure.

Jetting is refering to the size of jets in the carbs. They control the amount of fuel that mixes with the air. When you make air filter and exhaust changes, you will need to rejet the carbs to ballance the changes. Adding air filters, like pods allow much more air in, so you will need to let more gas through with bigger jets. To rejet, you will have to remove the carbs and diassemble them. Find the right size new jets, plus you will have to readjust the air screws as well. It can be a tricky job to have set up just right.
In your case, just adding slip ons, you may not need any changes to the jetting on the carbs.

Do a search through the archives, lots of info on jetting in there.
