KZ Turbo Design Help, Experience A Plus

I am planning on building a turbo specific engine and turbo system over the winter of 09/10. I can start the parts gathering now and assemble when I can no longer ride it. I value the opinions of mechs with working knowledge, maybe I can break a few less parts or not buy stuff that won't work.

I am looking for specifics here, I have built two turbo IROCs and one mean Cummins Torbo Diesel so I know the turbo basics, I need bike/KZ specific tips and tricks.

I will be using an MSD ignition with a boost referenced timing retard, used them on my cars and they are the best, can be set to retard the timing by x number of degrees for every pound of boost. Will use an adjustable boost controller for mild street manners with wild tendancies when needed. Might need a 100 shot of nitrous for when those pesky Busas show up!!! Just kidding.

Still trying to decide EFI or carbed.

Any oiling system mods required for the turbo and a good sized cooler? I know stock oil pressure is very low in these engines.

How about less ccs, say 1015 with a few more pounds of boost, or just go for the 1198 kit?

Should I consider using a MKII crank, or is a prepped and welded Z1 crank acceptable? Want 200+ horse.

Late model J cases any better than the pre 80?

Probably do a J head conversion.

This is just a start, help me build one nasty KZ engine.

Thanks Lee

I plan to use it for a driver, show, muscle bike. Plan on using an adjustable boost control so it can be tame or a monster depending on my mood. I am also looking at a belt driven super charger as another option, probably make it a meth addict like my Cummins.

Can I go blow through with the Mikuni RS flat slides? or is that injection only territory? I might try to set up fuel innjection.

I have an R1 swing arm, mono shock and 190 tire, 200 soon. Ohlins valved shock and forks, R1 front wheel, radial mount brakes, etc.

As far as frame bracing, I plan to uae all the points in the available kits, plus what ever looks like it needs it.

I did not have the notify on, sorry to have missed your posts.

Rotrex C15, about 5" in diameter and capable of over 200 horse. I'll have to custom build everything because there is no kit available.

my biggest issue with the superchargers is its very hard to change your boost without a lot of work changing drive pulleys around, they look cook though B)
