what caused it to break in the first place try to fix that problem first so after you get it welded it will hold

Actually I am not sure what caused it to break they are rearsets off a zx7 I bought used so previouse owner did it....

you can actually mig aluminum too....I've done it a many of times on live all trailers and trailer doors...good penetration is a must, and you have got to know what your doing, and have the right gas mix which you can find on the internet....

I had the entire cast aluminum transmission/engine case heliarc welded on my old BSA after I broke it (please, don't ask how, it's embarassing) and never had any more problems with it. I suggest you do a little web surfing on the subject to get a fuller picture, but here's one site with a description:
