When I came to this point, I followed the Oldkawman's advice and bought a degree wheel and
    accompanying how-to video tape
from one of the outfits (Dale Walker's Holeshot, in my case). Not great production value, but really helped to see what was going on, walk through the math of the lobe center method.

Advice: Take it slow, step-by-step.

There's room to screw things up here, IMHO, unless you're a dang mechanical natural. Personally, I had some trouble with the positive stops you use to identify TDC -- ones I had were interfering with my valves (my intakes are oversize). Was headed for a bent valve due to this, but figured it out in time.

Do you have the tools? One tip the Oldkawman passes on: if you buy a whole "cam degree kit", you will typically get ripped off on a Harbor-Freight-type dial indicator and magnetic base. You can get those separately far cheaper. I fabbed a little steel piece to bolt to the head (using cam cover holes) as a place where the magnetic base can sit. This seems to be required for most cams.

Did someone mention links?

www.webcamshafts.com/degreeing.html

Only the last one is Kawasaki (EX500) but it's basically the same for all.

This one shows you how to make your own piston stop.
