I'm getting my kz1000 motor converted with the 1400cc big block kit from kzzone - solumrus is doing the work
I'm looking for an oil cooler, anyone have experience with coolers on these big block motors? how does this look?
First One

Second One

Last Choice
any comments or hints would be appreciated. planning on throwing some more questions up here soon...

The oil cooler for the R1 will NOT work. Its more of a heat exchanger. As the oil passes through it just transfers the heat to the coolant so the radiator can get rid of it.
The Zx10 or Duc one will work. I'm probably gonna put a Gsxf600/750 cooler on my 1428 13.5:1 project. Things to keep in mind while looking for a cooler is mounting brackets, type of fitting, and if you go with a big enough one is where to route the tach cable.

The oil cooler OldKawMan used is pretty good. I bought one from JC Whitney. This oil cooler reduced my Z1's oil temp an additional 30 degrees F over what the old Lockhard #700 oil cooler I had on this bike was capable of.

The one on OKM will work too. If you are going to drag race it with a "professional" sanctioning body be careful with slip-on hose fittings. I'm going to stay will all threaded fittings so everything is safe and secure.

did you buy a kit yet, if you buy one you should know what the compression is.
if its anything above 10.5:1 on a 1400 you won't be driving it much or not at all on the street.
