Stator clearance for knee dragging?

I have seen pics of the stator cover being modded so you can lean the bike way down, but I have never seen what is under those covers!

What is the mod that allows you to still have a charging system and clearance the cover up a bit?

Many racers just removed the alternator completely and went on battery power for the whole race. Some others put in ignitions from dirt bikes that didn't need a charging system, such as a magneto ignition. If you're running full lighting, I don't think you're going to get away without an alternator.

You have any pics of the magneto style- does any of them fit under the cover?

I want to run a street/track days bike here!

I saw a pic the other day of one. It looks like he just cut off the edge of the cover and welded on a hunk of aluminum.

Very cool bike! But what's up with the rusted out front stand? :P

Looks like they must have yanked the rotor to fit the cover on.

Indeed, those cats at Auto Magic make some great bikes! It's part of that glorious Japanese bike porn, up there with win-pmc, Daytona and several others.

Yeah, I wonder what's behind there. LouD, you're the guy to ask about this... what manner of electrical system do you suppose this thing has?
