Short tzrip report
11 Jul 2026 07:10
Just got back from a short 170 km trip. We went for a drive and ended up in a village we hadn't visited in 30 years. I’ve known this quiet village since the late 70s. Time seems to stand still there; nothing has changed. The whole village looks like something out of the 15th century—and the large church likely dates back to that same era, too. It’s truly amazing—those magical places where time seems to have no influence really do still exist...

Keep your short trips coming, they may inspire me to go out on rides more often!

You and your bikes need to get out into the fresh air! Life is too short not to ride!!!
I keep always saying it: these bikes are built to be RIDDEN, not to rot away by sleeping in the garage... (But for many, ownership matters more than actually using them..., ooops! )
(For years, I’ve noticed among my circle of friends that the guys would rather tinker with their bikes or go out and rake in cash—even though they’re old enough and have more than enough money—,...instead of actually experiencing a bit of adventure on their motorcycles... I don't get it, but to each their own... or whatever they're able to do

Guilty as charged Joe ha. I do have an excuse though! My path to asphalt is about 2miles each direction i go. Muddy, dusty or when gravel is freshly graded from the city, aggregate the size of golf balls or bigger.

Apology accepted, Clay! THAT is a good reason, hehehe.
BUT: your own property is large enough to lay out your own racetrack.

They just don't make 'em like that any more. That beautiful old church. Or the beautiful old bike.

I do have a little Indian in me Joe, at least what my mother said about my dad ha. I could install an 1/8 mile track comfortably. And i did asphalt for 30yrs, You guys probably call it Bitumen in Germany. That namesake is actually incorrect because asphalt is a composite of bitumen (binder only) and gravel/sand and dust depending on the mix recipe. If it was truly Bitumen then it would be a gooey mess. 660ft X16' would consume about 220tonnes at 3" lift compacted. Have no clue what per ton asphalt goes for nowadays? Was around 70USD per tonne 10yrs ago. Then factor in the gravel base costs and grading. Used to have all that equipment, sold everything years ago. Of course then i could use all those ole jokes of why our chickens crossed the road ha.

OK, Kola,..I also do have a bit of Native American blood in me, Clay—my mother's side of the family came from eastsouthern Canada, near the Vermont border, a hundred years ago; Mohawk/Iroquois...Grandgrandgrandpa frenchman found there his native lady,..my grandgrandgrandma....so´s the story of our fam`ly history. Ol` france-born Grandpa went from france to Canada in the end of the 1870 years....Hmnnn, Howgh!!!
Man, with your knowledge of asphalt and the like, plus your money and land... I would’ve built myself my own circuit track ages ago......And that’s why I wouldn’t care anymore whether the roads around my property are bad for riding my motorbike. hahahaha

Re: Short tzrip report
Yesterday 07:48
I thought to myself: the bike and I need to get some more fresh air today... absolutely perfect weather, a gentle breeze, relatively empty roads—it was a real pleasure to be out and about. I even stopped by a friend's place for a bit to talk shop... everything’s good; all is right with my limited horizon and my little simple world.
When I'm sitting on my scooter, I don't give a shit about any of my worries and sorrows...Life itself can have allways and everwhere some nice surprizes....Here again two more pictures to bore you.
Hey Clay: I’ve got neither the cash nor the expertise in asphalt—let alone my own land—so I just have to keep driving "my" local racetrack over and over again.....and I will NEVER get bored of THAT hehehehe!!!
