Headed out at 6:15 am Sunday morning for the Chicago Toys for tots parade.
It was 27 F when I left home and thankfully got above freezing by the time I arrived there and met up with Saxjonz and his son around 8.
I'm not saying it was the coldest I have ever been on a bike but it was definitely in the top 5
The day warmed up nicely by the time we started to roll 20 miles up Western Ave through parts of Chicago that I normally avoid these days,
People came out for the parade the whole way, from every walk of life, young and old and "everyone" was smiling and waving,
The organizers, state and local police and city of Chicago handled the 68,000 bikers (a new record) very well and once we got rolling we moved along at a good pace to the end.
Thanks for talking me into it Jonz, I had a great time!
