Seeing the 'Ride Reports' forum made me start writing about a trip I took in 1988. I was living in Santa Cruz, Ca and rode my first 1981 Kz1000 LTD to the East Coast via a northern route. Santa Cruz to Boston on roughly $60.00 in gas, with working stops in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Visited friends in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, then rode down the coast to Virginia to visit family and took the southern route back to Calif.
Three and a half months on the road, passed through 23 states and rode 8800 miles. The only thing I did to the bike, between the time I left and my return, besides minor chain adjustments and lube, was an oil change in Virginia.

That was the extremely condensed version. The detailed account of the trip, that I am writing, is already WAY too long to post on here. But I'll keep working on it. Maybe I'll post it online when it's finished, like a blog.

Sounds like an awesome story. When you get the long version written you could put it into the "Articles" section of this site. I know there is a spot for member stories and there are a few in there already. I'm not exactly sure how to post in that section, but if you're interested I'm sure a Mod can chime in with more info on that.

Wow, such positive feedback! I'll have to keep working on it and see about posting it on here. I have not yet checked out the 'Articles' section, but I will.

I'm also trying to complete articles about all of the cats I have had in my life, (I like to write) as it dawned on me, a while back, that I have the potential for a cat book. And even if your one of those people who does not like cats, (but cannot give a truly rational reason for hating them) the bottom line is, cat stuff sells!

George The 3rd is usually hanging around when I work on my bike. He even knows the sound of my best friend's bike and I have seen him come running the length of my property when Dave comes in and rides up my driveway. I'll see if I can attach an image to this post.

Let's see your story. My 60th. birthday will be this year and remember the summer of 1976 spent crossing the US and Canada on my 75 Z1 very fondly. Left in June, back for school after Labour Day-one of those I gotta do this now so I'm not just wishing I had when I'm 60 / bucket list trips !

I'm working on it, Jack. I wrote a few pages today. I'm wondering if I can post what I've got it in the articles section and then add more as I continue writing.
