My wife and I are planning to make a ride end of June through parts of western and central Pennsylvania. We will be coming from Michigan, through Ohio to NWPA. We have looked at a map and it looks like RTE 62 is a good bet through the Allegany Forest, then onto RTE 6 eastward; then finally south through the mountains and (hopefully) into WV, VA and then head back west through OH back to MI.
We are seeking advice as to which roads are good to ride, construction info, good places to stay and eat, etc.
We are most interested in any advice for routes southbound through central PA into MD, WV and VA before heading home. We have about 8 days to make this trip, so our primary focus will be PA...but if we have enough time, we may try to take in parts of WV and northern VA, if possible.
Any and all advice and opinions are welcome.
