I am going to be filming a long ride/test for my TV show in a few weeks (Date TBD). The ride will be in Cali. It will be 450+/- miles in length, all done in one day.

I need a few people that would be willing to take the time and come along. There is no pay (sorry, no budget either) and you must be willing to sign a release form.

This is a 3 day commitment:

Day 1 Travel to Oceanside (Start Point) there will be a presentation given on how to ride and survive a that many miles without becoming a cripple. LOL
There will also be a safety briefing and maps of the route handed out. Appropriate gear will be REQUIRED to be involved.

Minimum Gear is Full face helmet, M/C Jacket, riding pants, boots and gloves!

Day 2 "The Ride" We start EARLY! I want to be back in Oceanside by Sunset, so we have to head out by 6:30am. The ride will include city roads, mountain roads, desert, more mountains, 60+ miles of LA freeway. The last leg is all Ocean View (PCH) with a stop at the Queen Mary.

We will be doing post ride interviews that evening.

Day 3 drive home

The number of people involved must be limited to a small number. We don't want 100 bikes out on the ride. I will PM people with the final dates once we work that out...if you are interested.

Race Tech will be involved since we are testing 3 bikes that they upgraded. We will have 2 chase/camera trucks along. I would love to see some sexy classic KZs along for the trip.

I am only posting this trip on a couple of sites. Why? We need mature, experienced riders that play nice with other bikes. Shorts wearing squids need not inquire.

I have the route mapped below

Sounds like a hoot.
I doubt I could get that much time away from work and my Warden but I wish you longevity and luck.

It sounds like a lot of fun and a good challenge! :woohoo:

I've ridden solo to north Vegas before (253 miles) and to Santa
Barbara and back again (235 miles round trip in a day) several
times earlier this year to visit a sick relative, but I'm pretty
sure I can handle an additional 200+ miles.

From riding in a group on long rides with the MC club I belong
to, Ive found that "safety in numbers" also equates to making a
long ride less a chore and more a joy.

I've got some vacation time to burn, but would need to know the
exact date(s) this ride is taking place to make sure I don't
already have plans (we're moving the 1st weekend of October).

In other words, I'm interested! :)

Wow, VV, sounds like an absolute hoot.....and a shot at imortality, too. What's not to like ??!!?? I wish I could be there with my 650. That would definitely be a blast.
Hopefully all will go well and the finished product turns out to be a rivetting vid. Keep us all posted on how this goes along and finishes up.

I can vouch for R4 on the "plays well with others" coment. I can sign his permission slip, or fake a doctor's note too. Oh you know if I was down there, I'd go as well. Go Chris, and have a blast, but report back to us here, Mmm-Kay? B)

Doing a 240 mile round trip from here to Laguna Seca for the AMA Races this weekend on the GPz550, but this thread isn't about me now is it.
