How do you get around copyright infringement after loading factory manuals for AI to search. Is that a problem?

Ditto Cra-z1's thoughts, intellectual property infringement rights. Seems the whole media is full of AI Slop these days, any category of any topic you would wish to explore. I suppose because it's easy and little to no actual trips to a Library required.

The problem is Clay that a lot of the information it gives you is wrong, when I was trying to find clutch slave sizes for different models nearly every answer I got was wrong !!!!
All the AI does is search out information already posted/published elsewhere, unfortunately it has no idea as to whether or not that information is correct so be wary and try to only use "trusted" sources

We've seen the same thing and variations thereof, wherein AI answers contradict each other.

In AI's defense, if the database is derived from info contained only from within a manufacturer’s tech manual, there's little to no ambiguity in the reference.  The two problems I see are,
1)  The infamous incorrect cam cap torque value in one of Mama Kaw's FSM for whatever model that was.  Can AI identify that and, offer corrected info?
2)  Far more damaging to accuracy is if 'field lore' is allowed to sneak in.  I'd consider field lore to be anything that isn't documented in manufacturer's tech publicans.  Some field lore is time-tested and trustworthy.  Some is not.  This invokes the 'GIGO' concept from the earliest days of computing - Garbage In, Garbage Out.

Some years ago we were driving a 2-lane road while following GPS directions.  A potential route requiring a right turn appeared on-screen not far ahead.  The suggested 'road' was clearly a straight, raised berm through a flat field that had obviously lain fallow for a long time.  The berm was completely overgrown with brush and small trees. It was 1-lane sized, that was maybe paved, maybe gravel, many decades ago.  The suggested right turn was through a gap in a rusty wire cattle fence.
There's still no substitute for a backup paper map as reference and a thinking human.

Not unlike the GPS indicating a phantom road, the thinking human must be fully engaged in the equation when it comes to AI answers.  Phrasing the same question differently sometimes results in quite different responses from an AI.  Don’t take the first answer as gospel.

Another word for artificial is 'false', i.e. 'false intelligence'.  Something to keep in mind...

To (very loosely) paraphrase Theodore Roosevelt, "Believe AI faintly and carry a big mind."

The answers one gets depend on how the algorithm is written.  Just for giggles I asked Google for some info on a great grandfather of mine.  Google came back with responses that I knew were false so I asked it if it was being truthful.  It replied that it hallucinated it's replies because it wanted me to be pleased with its research!

Not going to elaborate but i can still type with words in my "head". Don't need correction from any "cloud" based correction, Webster. What's happening..and will continue, is the reliance on this infancy of tech. Combined total equivalence of asking an 8yr old to drive Your tasks and unfortunately critical decisions. The "nerds" that apparently rule Finance and Governmental funding rely on dumbing down the generations, this is SAD. Let's All go to the Library. Again. Learn something will Ya ha.

In it's current state AI is the less reliable equivalent of your local bar room expert who heard from a friend of a friend that read somewhere that this, that or the other is fact .
I'd rather spend a month researching the internet, forums and good old printed media etc for the answer before taking anything that AI comes up with as gospel.
My wife is a high ranking staff nurse and the hospital has started using AI for diagnosis assistance.
The glaring mistakes and incorrect truly life threatening decisions it comes up with would make your toes curl.

That's exactually what i refer to when referring to these things Zed. My Wife was a veterinarian till she decided it was time to sell. But..she garnered her medical info from "true" resources, none of this AI Bull. The pedestrian folks with access get the "slop" left over, only for political parties grinding away for a catchphrase or two to heighten your belief./fervour to their cause. Folks, think... don't be swayed by disinformation
