If a part has the same number but is from a different bike, will it fit my bike?

I have an 82 LTD1000 and it needs front reflectors, Part number 28012-1009, I got the part number from Partzilla from two different agents, so I hope it's correct. I have been searching and I keep coming up with reflectors for the Vulcan with this same part number. Will they fit my bike and does Kawasaki ever reuse part numbers for parts that are not identical?
Thanks

Welcome from the UK. Manufacturers often use common parts across several models so yes, if the part number is right the part will be right. It isn't cost effective to make every part of every model bespoke.

In decades past when it was most common, the motorcycling print press often referred to new models that used existing parts from earlier models as 'parts bin bikes'.
