Getting $$ for old motorcycle batteries?

I have about a half dozen old powersport batteries that I need to get rid of. I called the local Autozone and they'll take them but won't give me any store credit (they'd give me $5/battery if they were automotive batteries). Looks like Advance and O'Reilly's may be the same.

So anyone know where I can dispose of them and get some cash or store credit back?

Thanks.

Wal-Mart does in some areas, or at least they used to.

Metal recyclers or battery rebuilders might give you some $$. Not much, but better than nothing....
