Hey guys
Anyone know if there is an alternative air cleaner option for Zenith/bendex carburetor. I'm not too thrilled with the cheapo chrome assembly.

cheers

John Sly/stone fruit (not sure if he's a member here) is putting an ATP on his kz650.
Here's his carb and filter, not sure if it's the same as yours.
Looks a bit thicker.

I'll ask him if he knows of options.

Hi Greg,
If you plan on using the Zenith 13792 carb there are a number of filter housings out there. Just search under Harley Bendix/Zenith air filter. Another option is a velocity stack. I'm thinking I might make an outer cover from 3mm aluminium. I have the same filter as you.

Mr Turbo will have the gaskets if it's a 900/1000 engine. Flange gaskets can be found at auto parts stores. Mr Turbo has old style wastegate gaskets but they didn't fit my wastegate. I bought a sheet of exhaust gasket from an auto parts shop and made my own. If you do this make a few spares as I have. It'll save time later on.

While looking at the Mr Turbo site you could look at the Mikuni carb set up now running on a system like yours.
Most KZ turbo guys made the upgrade years ago. Some because of lack of replacement parts for the old carbs , Some because it was such a better carb to run and tune.

Just a thought

Go to K&N website & cross match the filters dimensions. I believe the ATP filter is discontinued but there is one which is close enough.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThis is about as close as I can find. I'll have poke a couple holes in it for the cover.

For now I just want to make it runner and possibly get the Mikuni carb set up later
