Memorial Day Road Rage; Be careful out there.

This happened yesterday about an hour away from us. Veterans / bikers returning from participating in a veterans day ride. Guy in the car cut off a couple of the bikers and this ensued.

Best to keep your cool out there and just report them instead.

It says "habitual traffic offender" but that guy is a habitual offender, period. Lock him up.

It's a damned good thing I wasn't riding with that group or I would be in jail now. I am too old to trifle with and care less about criminals every day I get even older.

Don't know what it is about Florida. But I had a situation where I decided to overtake a pickup (Texas plates actually) in a 30 mph zone. This is a country road leading to my house that I travel everyday which we call the canopy of trees. The trees narrow closer to the road and on either side you have about 2 to 3 feet of clearance between the road and tree trunks. Sometimes you hit new growth that wanders into the lanes after a storm with the car. Its that close. As I went to pass the pickup inside the canopy on his left, he deliberately drifts into the passing lane leaving me inches of road as I crack the throttle to get buy. At this point I could have waited and confronted him. But figured this is too close to home anyway and didn't want trouble with someone in my home range. So I kept my cool. To be completely transparent, I admit that I passed him in a no passing zone. Not defending that part. So I suppose that irritated him. He could have flicked me the bird or honked his horn at me and got his point across. But I never expected that he would try to kill me for it. Oh, I had a GIXER pass me a couple times in the same spot. Didn't even see it coming until it already passed me and I heard the Vrooom! And I thought ... Coool!

That should be construed as attempted murder.

Robert Paul Vance has been charged with 2 counts of attempted murder, leaving the scene of an accident, and of being a habitual traffic offender.

The motorcycle rider (Calderazzo) & his passenger weren't wearing helmets, and the passenger was only wearing a tank top & shorts & no gloves. Calderazzo was quoted as saying this wasn't his first road rage incident --- yet he still doesn't wear a helmet & doesn't require his passenger to wear full protective gear. ???
