Bike of the Month.

Let me just add a quick comment  about here:

Some of you are probably sick to death of seeing photos of my bikes by now, given how often I’ve posted them here ... And to be honest, my bikes aren't really "Bike of the Month" material—they aren't outstanding enough for that (partly due to limited funds, and perhaps also because I don't necessarily want to ride a bike in "super-excellent" condition; every stone chip or minor scratch would probably hurt!)-

But the fact is: I *do* actually ride my bikes on the road—they aren't just "trailer queens" for "show and shine" contests; I put about 3,000–5,000 km on them per season, depending on the weather. And  you can bet: My bikes are always impeccably maintained and cared for. As an example: I control and adjust the contacts and timing evry 3 weeks, also the tension of timing chain and secondary drive chain, and so on, try to hold the bike on the zenit of performance,even if it isn't necessarily a highly tuned engine...( the time of highly tuned engines in my bikes is in fact behind me ...)
So, don't get frustrated seeing such an "ordinary" bike here as a BotM candidate...

Joe I admire your humility but I want to draw everyone's attention back to the criteria I posted when re-launching BOTM close to 4 years ago now !

When re-launching BOTM The intention is to use BOTM to showcase the passion and hard work of our members in their quest to preserve KHI’s finest from the “glory days”. With this in mind I am looking to feature a mix of modified/stock/restored and survivor bikes of the era, if it “has a story” drop me a line. I don’t intend this to be a haven only for mega buck show winners (although they are also welcome) I want BOTM to inspire other members around the world to get out in the garage and smother their rides in love and attention.

Yes, Guy, that is the best reason to showcase these bikes here!
After all, every bike has a story or history of its own! I—and all of us—admire the work, time, and effort that you (and the other admins) put into this place!!!
Not all of us (myself included) are in a position to provide financial support, but for my part, I try to keep this forum "alive" through my posts—whether they’re about experiences on the road or technical support. (And I’ve always respected the people who know every spare part—no matter how small—by number and name, and understand the specific differences down to the finest detail from one model year to the next.) All in all, a great reason to be a member here and to keep reading along with such enjoyment...!   

Well it's finally happened, after 4 years "the well is dry" I don't have time currently to spend hours searching for material through the forum, if you guys want this feature to continue you need to send me the material (PM me if you want to know how) there must be hundreds of great bikes out there that you guys seem "shy to share"

Yeah, Wookie, it’s a real shame that your work and dedication here get so little appreciation... Sooo many people briefly show off their repairs on fantastic bikes here... are they all that shy, or is that global "screw it, I don't give a damn" attitude slowly spreading to this forum too???

The well mever runs dry here Guy. What with my bikes and the bikes that come to me for work, tunning, restoring etc. 
technically not mine but somthing new every month.
Having already featured a few of my bikes i dont want to overload so MEMBERS dont be shy and keep the thread running. No criticism given or embarresment to be felt. Im sure all the members have gained from the group either through mechanical/electrical answers or through inspiration and ideas. Its a give and take community so get those stories and pictures over to Guy. 

Being Humble is a learned traight. Only thru exposure to the "real world" do these antics drive one's self worth and how we interact. I would rather have a functional bike Joe has    over a Trailer Trotted Queen to just show-off. Your endeavor of having FuN on Your bike is the real deal and should be considered for BOTM. I toil on all sorts of stuff and know the constraints of what's worth doing my thingy to or not. Example shown, never discount outward appearance for enclosed gems.      

Clay, this shown rotor and freewheel assembly looks like new!!!....And also the cleaned lower engine housing! - Have you glass-blasted it ??? Or with a special chemical solution?
(it always hurts me to see an engine like that rotting away out in the garden....

And sprag clutch functions like New too! Besides noted ant colony that set-up shop under the covering, fugly on the outside but pristine internally. I'd left the engine covers on it till today. Buzz N needs the upper KZ1000 case half and Chris needs the crankshaft assembly. Soo Perfect.. i can get out of the yard ha. Here's a sample Joe..and others a-looking. I have a micro farm so all the machinery i have use HAS to work. I happen to have a Friend with a penchant for the lightweight GT Series finish mowers. He brings these things to me all the time. This pertains to Function over Fashion and why i believe Joe Should be a contender for his lifelong endeavor to his Love of the Kawasaki's. Not to discount others often mentioned here by far!! But his stuff starts/reliable and fulfills his venture for..well FUN. My small finish GT225/235's mowers follow suit, functional over fashion. I can rivet count with the best but sometimes Function with proper maintenance takes crap to a different plateau. I don't need fancy hoods, harder to clean and our squirrels don't critique. Have even developed little upgrades for the Achilles heals of these Briggs and Stratton Toyota Division built engines. Far superior to the similar    Kawasaki engines addled with crankshaft bushing issues.   

Yes, Clay, flawless functionality is always important to me too—as is proper technical and cosmetic maintenance—but like I said: I can live with a few minor signs of cosmetic wear. Not everything has to look "brand fuckin' new," as if it just rolled off the assembly line or came straight out of a showroom window.
For instance, I avoid riding in the rain or on wet roads... I wouldn't tolerate the rusty consequences of that; I hate rusty parts or rusty motorcycles!
(Not to mention: on dry roads, I like to ride quite "sportily" through the corners... but  to my shame: In the rain, it's the exact opposite: I simply don't trust the tires when leaning over on a wet road.. .)

Clay, you have an enviable property—your place looks absolutely fantastic!

Giant thanks to Clay for finding the time and generosity to ship out bike parts while (apparently) operating a hay farm!
