11 Oct 2012 09:46Her I am! I'm in Abilene,TX now on the way to WI.bluej58 wrote: BlackZ1R has it in Mississippi with a hand off to WABBMW from Houston planned .

I made a long post yesterday morning but can't find if now.
The planned route is Black Z1r to WABBMW to BSKZ650 to OK_Kent to, I think, Mac68 in NE Oklahoma. Then, I think maybe a change is in order. I can't view the map on my phone for some reason, so I'll expand on that when I get home. I should be there Friday night, so check back Sat. morning.
Going west from Houston sounds good on paper but the next rider to the west was 850 miles awayin Albuqierque and he moved to Iowa! I'll post ssuggestions for the new route Saturday. I'm the mean time let's get the flag to Houston.
On another subject, Texas is HUGE! I rode 450 miles yesterday and I'ms till in themiddle of the state. I should be in KC, MO tonight, maybe a little further. Gotta go ittime to ride.s

Mission Accomplished !!! The handoff from BlackZ1R to WABBMW took place today, 10-21-2012, just West of Alexandria, Louisiana.
It was a super nice day. Kevin, it was truly a pleasure meeting you and your son today. These old bikes are not only great machines, but they have a way of bringing together some extremely knowledgable and pleasant people.
My KZ650 ran flawlessly. I was short on time, so I rode over and back today, for a total of 476 miles. BlackZ1R rode both Saturday and today, and did over 600 miles this weekend. All went very well. The flag is now at my home here in Houston, Texas.
Kevin mentioned that the front of the white flag is completely full of signatures. The intent of the green flag, is to handle overflow after the white flag is full. I agree that we should begin signing the green flag. If signatures were started on the back side of the white flag, then some of the ink might bleed through and make it illegible. I agree with Kevin that we should switch to signing the green flag. Of course, both flags will continue to be handed off.
Pictures tomorrow. A little tired tonight.

".....a little tired tonight." I guess so! You and some of the other riders have taken some very long rides. 476 miles in a day on a KZ650 is quite a hike; my longest one day ride on mine was 450 miles and I was happy to get off the bike when I was done. Nice job to all!! Ed

Hey Bill, glad you made it safe. Yes, I enjoyed meeting up with you also. We could talk about old Kaws all day man. I really wish we had that extra hour and a half, well 2hours then, so I could have taken you through the " Kawasatchie Hills" section of the Kasatchie NF.
It was rather thrilling letting Derrick lead me back through those 17.5 miles to make the meet up time with you on time. Not saying there was any peg scraping going on, but dang near it :woohoo: :woohoo:
