I wasn't planning anything radical. It's in too good of shape to make changes. Right now, I'm going to get her caught up on maintenance, and see how she runs. I just wanted to put superbike bars on it, so I don't feel like I'm steering a garden tiller.

I also got the original Suzuki luggage rack with sissy bar which will likely be for sale. Got an aftermarket windshield that is in really good shape. He has already installed a Dyna S and some Accel coils. He threw in a Clymer manual and some before and after pictures of the work he has done. The best part is that the title is 100% legit in his name. No wrangling to get the bike in my name like I had to do on the KZ.

I plan on following the Trianglelaguna modification schedule on this one. We'll ride it and think about mods later.

you think i'm kidding...go down the street and dump the clutch at 5 mph with those bars you will be feeling the g's as that front becomes the back...buck horn bars shoot the moon.....

The L model zooks are akin to an LTD as I understand. This is definitely a cruiser guy that I bought it from. He has a new Vulcan in the garage.

So I jumpered it to a battery that half-ass holds a charge. Pleased to say that all the electrics function. Awesome red backlights on the gauges. Poured a little fresh gas in the tank, and promptly had the vacuum petcock puke it on the floor. :( So I need to sort out the petcock and a battery. Basic maintenance and she'll be rollin'.

One more update for tonight. I pulled a plug to check for spark. Dyna S for the win. Even with a weak battery and the bike turning over slowly I'm getting a nice blue spark. Also tried the poor man's compression test. Plug the hole with a finger and hit the starter. It makes good enough compression to start. I don't care to run a proper compression test. Frankly I don't want to know what the number is right now. Good enough to start is good enough for me. I have started motors with way less compression than this thing makes. I'm pleased with my purchase. Merry Christmas to me.

plus it's a clean bike to boot.

No particular brand loyalty. I just happen to own two Kawasakis and now a Suzuki.

Someone over at GSResources just reminded me to try the aux tank, like when you're syncing carbs. Duh! I'm too giddy about finding this bike. Can't even think straight. It doesn't happen often, but I'm a dumbass tonight. It's good to be a dumbass every once in a while. Hell, I spent more money on the ignition for the KZ than this whole bike. I would bet the farm that I get this started tomorrow off the old lawnmower tank.
