Well, money is tight and I cant afford a period correct restoration. So i am going to make her look good and run better. to the best of my ability. Nothing will be chopped! But a different paint job is a must and black seat upholstery. more to come.

Congratulations, on an excellent score. Heck, I paid twice that for a basketcase 1978 KZ1000 that needed more parts than it had. Don't worry about doing a concourse restoration. Get it running and don't change anything permanent, so that it could get a proper resto in the future. Obviously, the more NOS Kawasaki parts it has, the more it's worth. That can come in time. Those carbs look too good to be true. You would pay $200 to get someone to clean a set of VM28's that well. That seat is hideous. Where did that thing come from?

that is a score...keep that faded body set around and get a painter set....if the orig colors are not in the scheme for now...although.............Mark wing or others could make that a true Gem with a close enough restoration paint for a lot less than you might think....dont buy toys all winter and you could have a root beer and orange Z-1 by april......;)

that is a killer deal and worthy of a long think before changing anything away from what it might really need to become again...

great job of making it happen...there are others around i just know it....

I HATE YOU.... :P    AWESOME!!!

Seriously, that is in a hell of a lot better shape then my $400 junker was... Hell with that compression, you can most likely get her at least running for under $500...

Where else can you get a Running Z1 for that price.... B)

I have to agree with the others, seat (color) has to go....:S

Sweet find there no doubt...
