MaKaw doesn't think my Z1A worthy?
26 Dec 2008 19:04
The Kawasaki website no longer has part diagrams for my bike. This may be common knowlege but it seems I just checked availablity on parts a month ago. What gives? They make 1000% mark up on these dinosaur parts, that I have been buying faithfully for the last 34 years! I realize they have bigger fish to fry, but come on! The freaking Z1 is a legend.
While I'm whining, let me also say; Why is it that multiple authorized Kawasaki dealers show prices for parts that are not available? Isn't this 2009 (almost), and the era of the information highway? It would seem the manufacturer would inform their dealers when they decide the profit is no longer worth their investment to maintain spares.
OK, I feel a little better but I'm still pissed off. Flame on my brothers and sisters. BTW, Merry Christmas and the best New Year to you and yours.

Sure enough, the usual navigation to 1974 Z1 parts diagram returns a message akin to no longer available or something like that.
Try this: Instead of aiming at 1974 Z1, navigate toward 1973 Z1. Choose "parts diagram" and a lengthy list of different models appears, including the 1973, 1974 and 1975 Z1.
Choose "1974 Z1" from the list and viola!
Good Luck!

Kawasaki has been making a number of changes to the parts web site - and seems to be having issues too...
They keep losing information - many of the parts for the Z1 (and other bikes) have dropped from the diagrams. I've also noticed many of the KZ650 diagrams have the same issue.
Things like 1st and 2nd oversize pistons and rings are missing from many of the diagrams.
