I'm going to be working on my bike over the winter so i need stuff,so i asked the wife and she told me I'm allowed, yes allowed ,to spend $400.decided i wanted to get a table,concrete gets cold over the winter,but all the tables i looked at cost close to 400 or more :angry: that's my budget so built my own.what do you think? any room for improvement? also need a wheel chock will this due

Are you handy with a bandsaw and a welder? A length of 3 inch wide "channel" iron for the wheels to travel in which has the front part cut and welded at a 45 degree upward angle bolted along the centerline of your table will keep the wheels in place. Mount some eye-bolts into the side where you can attach straps to hold it upright might be a good addition.

I've not done any of this myself, but I've seen the channel iron used on a home made bike trailer.

what he said,or maybe look in a harbor freight catalog to see if they sell some kind of pre made holde for front wheel in a trailer kit ;)

i know how to use a bandsaw but don't own a welder that's why i wanted to see if the one from harbor freight was ok.the eyebolts are a great idea,i think i have two in the workvan...thanks, oh yea btw im sure a few of you were thinking about how much i spent on the wood,it was freeee

that looks doable,a little expensive but not a lot of hard thinking or fabricating required!:laugh: id definately invest in some good tie downs.B)

hi i dont know if you have a cummings tool store were you are ,but i went to the one in my town over the weekend they have a great all steel motorcycle lift table with built in ramp and wheel chuck.it all so has a hydraulic foot pump that will rase the bike about four feet off the ground.it is $200.im going back on monday or tuesday and get one so i can work on my bikes this winter.it also has caster wheels so it rolls around real easy.good luck with what ever you get.steve

no cummings store by me but sill 200 is half the budget and i still need a clutch and all the goodys that go with that and i want to put in an hid kit so i have to stretch that 400


plummen dude I'm sorry i didn't understand what you meant "doable", "little expensive" did you mean the chock from harbor freight
