Your First Bike.... Images?
01 Nov 2008 08:14 - 01 Nov 2008 08:15
Hey all,
Well going through some photos I came across these beauties...
My first (among many) POS bikes but it was all mine. Home made Suzuki 90... Seriously, I learned a lot about wrenching with this sweetheart.

My first bike was a British built 1950 Francis-Barnett with a 2 stroke 197cc Villiers engine. Payed $50, hauled it into the basement where I rebuilt the engine and painted it, then shipped it to Quebec where I rode it throughout a summer and sold it for $125. I was single and just about as skinny as the guy shown in the ad

Oh off road! I had a Wombat and a Yammie 500TT. Also a Ossa Pioneer. A few months ago I walked into a motorcycle repair shop and there was a cherry and I do mean cherry like brand new Wombat sitting on the floor. It wasn't for sale. I asked.
The Yam500 was nutz! The Ossa just ran and ran. Great engine!
Many Years later......
First real road bike was a Honda360T I found apart in a garbage pick up. I asked the guy if I could take it and he gave me the old registration. My brother helped me put it back together and I ran it for a year. Sold it to a kid and not long after saw it in the metal recycling container at the local landfill.
