How much weight can I actually put on this bike?

My girlfriend and I weigh in at 420lbs, mostly my contribution :P

Will this be ok for the bike? What other things are there to consider?

Iv'e heard of guys loading these bikes pretty heavy, but...

Cheers!

Stronger rear springs, new rear shocks, tires inflated to maximum when cold, heavier weight oil in front forks. Just a few things to consider........

You can look at the sticker on the steering stem for the GVWR and subtract the weight of the motorcycle to get an idea if you are overloading. A KZ650 has a GVWR of 803lbs. My wife and I weigh about 360lbs combined. Subtract 360 from 803 and get 443lbs. So does a KZ650 weigh more than 443lbs I wonder :) I think we are all overloading when carrying a passenger.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

According to the FSM, 650's through the 1980 model year weigh anywhere from 211 kg to 219 kg DRY !!! That's 465 lb - 482 lb for you metrically challenged folks.
Well, I guessed my 650C2 was no featherweight.....but 219 kg DRY ??? :S
And those are the factory numbers which we all know are USUALLY quite...um...er.."optimistic"....
