I say we tear it down for tech inspection!
This is very interesting to me because I used to race a lot in the 90's and many other kaws at the track were running 9's and 10's and I could only squeeze an 11.000 out of my 1229cc heavily modified bike. Everyone else claimed they had much smaller engines. I always wondered if it was true or if they used to just say that.
Have you had that bike apart to tell for sure what it has in it? I'd guess it has high compression at the very least, probably 12.5 to 1 or 13 to 1. Then again, I've always heard that it's all about having the right COMBINATION of parts, not just bigger parts.
It's an old mystery that may never be fully resolved...

Sorry but your reaction time has no effect on your ET. The ET timer doesn't start until your front tire clears the stage beam. Drag Racing 101

sorry but reaction time effects everything when you are in bracket racing, when u dial in your time the race is won at the tree, which is where i blow it. but no it doesnt effect e/t's. read a lil closer next time.

so is the 60' for a slick and bar bike! For the 134-135 mph bike should easily run 9.50s with just a half way decent 60'

If you ran a 9.94 on a 9.90 dial in, even a perfect light wouldn't have changed the fact that you ran .04 over your dial in. I think the statement above makes it sound like you would have run closer to 9.90 with a better light. What you probably meant was you would have finished first with a better light, right?
But you are correct, a better light really helps when running a bracket. The first one to the finish line wins, even if your ET is slower than that of your opponent (unless you break out, red light, etc...).
That's were the quick reaction time comes into play. It basically gives you a head start if you cut a better light than the other guy.
heres one of my timeslips, im running number 8.
i lost on this one in the third round of eliminations, i dialed in a 9.90 and ended up running a 9.94, if i didnt cut such a bad light i woulda had this one and gone to the finals!

Modprod - you have a bike that looks a little like the one pictured in this thread, don't you? If I remember correctly, you've been down a drag stip a time or two, right?

wut i mean is if you look at the other cars time and figure the time i lost at the light, i coulda won if id made a better lite, they didnt make there dial in either.
you hit it on the head when you say a bracket race can be won at the light with a quicker reaction.

try to find a more compareable bike, the bike in the link u posted has a totally different set up. thats a strictly track bike, stretched right out, im rolling on a stock swing arm, and i can have this bike on the street in less then an hour!
im not trying to say that this is a super crazy fast bike, i am simply saying its pretty impressive numbers for the set up. if you dont believe or agree well good for you, i know wut i got and im proud of wut i ran. case closed, if you dont like it, f*ck off.
