I'll bet they sell...these are for the very early VIN Z1's that had the vacuum nipples molded into the head rather than on the manifolds.  Remember the eBay Z2 seat that sold (several months ago) for US$1225.00???

As George mentions in the listing, these items are incredibly hard to find. If you are restoring a bike to full OEM standards, then these are one of the parts that'll be VERY difficult to find.
Generally, any rubber part that's unique to the early Z1's is fetching staggering prices.
Are they worth a $1,000 - only if you need them and can't find them anywhere else...

I agree that most NOS OEM Z1 parts will fetch decent money for a seller, but IMHO the starting price on those manifolds (rarer than hens teeth or not) is pretty steep.
Maybe that's why the auction never recieved any bids?
Perhaps the people who really needed/wanted them never saw the auction listing (very unlikely)?
A NOS Z2 or Z1 seat is one thing.
But with the downward spiraling economy here in the U.S., and regardless of the sellers claim that they're as supple as the day they were manufactured!!!, I'm willing to bet that folks just weren't willing to gamble $1K of their hard earned money on a set of 30+ year old manifolds that just might leak due to age.
Of course if a person were simply restoring a Z1 (never intending to start or ride it of course) using all OEM parts to hopefully fetch a higher selling price, then those manifolds could be considered part of the total restoration investment.
Just my $0.02 worth.

So whats the difference between these and a set you pick up at the local dealer? They don't have a date made stamp on them. I emailed and asked if he was joking and he seemed a little upset talking about how they are original and blah blah blah. Any part from a dealer is original in my eyes. Ron will back me up on this!
