Another KZ joins the growing collection!!

A good friend of mine finally decided to get rid of his 78 KZ1000 after owning it for the last 19 years. I was there to take it off his hands;)

It's mostly stock but with the usual mods: Header, K&N filters, electronic ignition, coils, etc... We agreed on $2000 which I used to think was way to high, but after checking into it, these are definitely going for $2500 or more on eBay all of the time. Not a steal, but a very fair deal, I think. It only has around 10,000 miles and has the original paint in great shape! Here's a picture - just had to share!

The Kaw List:
Current: 79 KZ1000 A3 MKII, 78 KZ1000 A2, 78 KZ1000 Z1-R, 78 KZ650 SR, 80 KE175
Former: 03 KLX400SR, 99 ZRX1000, 82 KZ750 LTD, 80 KZ1000 A4 MKII, 80 KZ1000 LTD, 78 KZ1000 A2, 74 H-2 750 Triple, 78 KL250

Beauty.
I lust after bikes like that. Love the original paint. Exhaust looks interesting. Great find.

Is that a Kerker with oil filter access? I have a similar set up on my 82 GPZ1100 B2.

Thanks for the positive comments. It really is in very nice shape. I know my friend took care of it. He is still pretty bummed about getting rid of it.

Yes, that is a regular old Kerker with oil filter access. It sure looks strange in the picture but that's how they've been making them for quite a while now. It must be the angle of the photo.

I love the original paint on it. I was an idiot and painted over my stock MKII paint back in the early 90's. What a bad move that was! I could sell the body work alone for big money now. It was in great shape! I don't plan on painting this one. The stock paint seems to really drive up the value, even though a cool custom paint job looks awesome!
