A recent study has found that Motorcycle riders between the ages of 21-24 who ride betwen midnight and 4am are 45,000 times more likely to die in an accident than the general population as a whole.

I believe it. A motorcycle will disappear in a line of traffic at night. I don't ride at night unless I don't have a choice, and never on the freeway.

I reached that age, 64, where I have a real hard time staying up past 9pm. I am up at sunup every day though. That way I can work on the bikes before it gets hot out. Keeping 3 26 year old bikes up and running takes alot of time. No matter how good they are running, there is always something that needs tending to. Thank God for ebay parts..chris3

You could substitute a car, snowmobile, four wheeler, boat, heck even a tractor around here for the motorcycle in the study and come up w/ comparative numbers. That age group and time of day just don't mix. Never have, probably never will.
Can't even remember the last time I rode my KZ after dark..

Call it what you want, but I do a majority of my riding at night. At this point in life my commitments don't end until after dark and its either ride then or sit and stare at the Z parked in the garage. Dodging the wildlife and gravel at night keeps one sharp ;)

To put the same data another way - about 31% of all fatal automobile and light truck accidents involve a driver who is 25 years old, or younger!

Sorry - it's what I do for a living!

But at least you now know why insurance is so expensive for young folk!
