Z1 Enterprises, some history...

Z1 Enterprises, some history of the building we are in.

A couple of years ago we bought the building we're currently in - a neglected old industrial building that's been used for everything and anything over the years. A few days ago we were able to get some old photos taken around 1920 of the complex as it used to be. Very little of the original now exists - although the one building in the left foreground is now my office... Much of the large 4-story building was destroyed in a major fire in 1923.

My office is now joined to other buildings to form the current building. In the crawl space under my office is the original wiring - bare wire with ceramic insulators...

I can barely tell that it is the same building. Are you going to to frame the picture and hang it somewhere? Who knows what kind of goodies are hiding in crawl space and rafters. All I know is that the warehouse has lots of motorcycle goodies.

I wanted to read about the history of Z1 Enterprises, not the building!!

Seriously, your commitment to customer service (as well as your "very" reasonable prices) is what made you a success, and more power to you for doing it that way.
Maybe other companies will see the light someday.

I'm waiting for the book, "The Jeff Saunders Story" :D

The building doesn't have much copper, but it does have a few tons of steel I-beam in the form of an overhead trolley rail... I just have to find a plasma cutter to remove it...

My son Steve (who works for me), contacted the local historian - and much to our surprise she came up with 12-15 pictures of the building. I'll scan them and post them as I get time. Yes, we are going to get all the photos copied and mounted in frames. There are also a number of newspaper clippings related to the companies that owned the place over the years. That factory used to supply Hellmans with Apple Cider Vinegar. The company that owned the building originally, is still in existance - it's now Wayne County Foods located in NJ.

My office has the original walk-in safe - concrete walls, plate steel door, etc... a good conversation piece.
