GPZ 750

Ok. I love my KZ, but it feels underpowered on the freeway where I do a lot of riding, and I just don't like the feel. Just doesn't seem to fit me right. I have an offer to trade my 78 KZ650 for an 83 GPZ750. From what I can tell, it is in fair shape and runs like a top. I go see it tomorrow. Opinions? GPZ owners, what do you think?
I know it would not be any fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?

I've ridden (and now own) both and there's huge diffs between them, the biggest being listed below.

'78 KZ650-B2/B2A/C2:
60 HP @ 8,000 rpm's
4.4 (rounded off) gallon fuel tank
465 (rounded off) pounds dry weight

'83 ZX750-A1 GPz:
86 HP @ 9,500 rpm's
5.1 (rounded off) gallon fuel tank
482 (rounded off) pounds dry weight

The GPz750 is slightly heavier, but it's 26 HP diff greatly overcomes that.
IMHO it handles better at higher speeds, and it's larger fuel capacity and seating/handlebars position for me (5' 11" ) are much more comfortable on longer rides.

The KZ650 doesn't have the power, fuel range or high-speed handling that the GPz does. But feels easier to "flick" around in tight, slow corners than the GPz does.

If you can afford it (and if SWMBO allows it), why not just keep them both?
I did. ;)

Cause I can't afford it I'm afraid. But I am looking for more freeway stability so that might be the way to go.

Thanks for the help and the opinions. Just traded for an 84 GPZ 750. Not the prettiest thing on 2 wheels (it will be), but it runs like a dream and feels much better on the freeway.

PS. SWMBO likes it too, maybe I should try for a second? :woohoo:
