84 GPZ 1100

I'm quoting the for sale listing

"84 Kawasaki GPZ"

"bike has been in storage for years. need to get it out of garage/yard. has some damage - never wanted to get back on after dump"

I contacted the seller and got more info:

Mileage is 4k, Don't know when bike last ran, don't know if it cranks.

"It's been stored in our garage for the most part since the original owner dumped the bike - probably since 1994 or 1996?"

Checking on the title now, and the asking price? $650. Yeah or nay?

84 GPZ heads are worth $$$ as are the cranks. You wouldn't go wrong at $650 just parting it out.

Nay. What a piece of junk. Um, where is it located?

Looks like a no-brainer. Unless you're like me and would be castrated if you bought another bike.

I'm waiting on a pic of the opposite side of the bike. I thought it was a no brainier myself but wanted some other opinions. Thanks to all.

Scratching up the $$$ will be tricky but I'll do my best and report back.

bemoore - I'm still walking gingerly after she found my "new" box of kz parts that some how showed up in the garage. How big a blanket do you think I'll need to cover a gpz?

just buy it.

it's easier to beg for forgiveness then to ask permission.
someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

I used to subscribe to the "ask forgiveness after permission" adage but now I go by the "treat her like a queen, get treated like a king"

It goes like this. I bust my a$$ around here and everything she asks me to do, and I mean everything, is always done with a smile and a "yes dear". All the while I'm banking my "good husband" credits. Then, when it comes time for a new bike or parts or whatever, she simply cannot say "no". Works like a charm.

Seriously, she's the best wife a guy could ever ask for. All she cares is when I leave the house on a ride, that I come back in one piece.

Thanks again to all for your advice and I'll keep you guys posted . .

Well, I picked it up yesterday. In the pouring rain of course. All I can say is she looks like one serious bad a$$. As the listing stated, she's been dropped and the tank is in pretty rough shape, but it appears that most our all of the damage is cosmetic. The motor looks pristine w/ only 4K. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Thanks again to all . . .
