22 Mar 2008 06:06Hmmm...could apply to the woman as well. :woohoo:Then you have the problem of someone else in the group gets unhappy with the way you are riding the bike...
how the heck do you try to schedule when you want to ride when 4 other guys are going to want to be out riding the same bike at the same time you are?

Was down in Florida a couple months ago and saw that they rent Harleys and cruisers. Never saw that before.

I've rented bikes before on when I was on vacation. It makes sense plus yuo get to basically try out a model that you might be interested in purchasing on down the road.

That's actually not all that new of a thing.
There's a lot of places (HD dealers, private rental companies, etc.) here in So Calif that have been renting bikes for quite a few years.
IMHO it has it's benefits and drawbacks.
A benefit is that it offers the chance for people wanting to try out a particular bike or model before plunking down their money before buying it and becomming stucl with a bike they don't like afterall.
A drawback is that anyone with a motorcycle endorsement (Class "M" here in Calif) and the money can rent a bike.
This allows riders with exteremly limited experience, especially on big cruiser/touring bike that likely outweighs them twice out on the roads.
I see this a lot here in So Calif - some guy with limited/no experience in riding motorcycles and going through his mid-life crisis trying to recapture his youth goes out and rents a 600+ pound/80+ HP capable bike.
It's honestly a recipe for disaster, especially since most cage drivers around here have a cell phone jammed into their ear and are reading the morning paper. :S
