Bike ID, 1982 or '83 KZ 550=what sub-model ??

I'm working on a friends bike,not sure if it is a 1982 or '83 (he told me '83, but sticker says 10/82). Vin: JKAKZFM16DA001636
I am wondering what type of KZ 550 (for ordering parts from Z1 or elsewhere). It is a shaftie and has single front disk and drum rear brakes. CV carbs, I think. Vin sticker also says KZ550M.
This is an '83 M1?? Right?
Just looking for confirmation . . .

1977 KZ 650 B1, I own two of them. Working on one custom rebuild, one daily rider. Used to have a third. Two 1978 KZ 650 C2 models, sold both. KZ owner since 1987.
