Does anyone here use an intercom?
05 Mar 2008 17:51
I have recently started looking into helmet to helmet intercoms. I have found a bunch of ceapies on ebay, and a bunch of expensive ones at Denis Kirks.
Since having it shipped to me in Korea makes any system i buy effectively expensive i don't want to spend $14 bucks on a piece of junk just to spend $50 shipping it to Asia. (where the piece of junk was probably built!)
I would like a nice system that will fit in my full face helmets and give me nice clean sound. I don't need bike to bike, as my girl will NEVER ride on her own. Just something to go helmet to helmet. Oh yeah and if it had an input for another audio device that would be great (I usually listen to my mp3 player in one ear while i ride...)
So what do you have/used?
any good ones or are they all junk?
What should i look for when shopping?
Thanks!
Rocco

I have one of the old AutoCom Pro M-1's and it's great. I believe that the price of the new system has dropped quite a bit.
My system works great with my: Cell Phone, CD Player/Radio/Radar Detector.
AND I'm ever so pleased that my wife's located right between my ears!

I use a "Chatterbox" GMRS-X1,and I love it.
It's one of the higher-end priced units, but if you ever get one, you'll see why.
Very good quality,and clear sound.
