Who would have thought...

So apparently the Harley dealership in Santa Fe doesn't sell chrome cleaner. I went to like 2 other bike shops before finally going to Harley, assuming that if ANYBODY would have chrome polish then they would. The guy just looked at me like I was crazy then we looked at their various "Harley Branded" chemicals fora while, but no luck.
I eventually got lucky and found some Never Dull at a Pep Boys. I love Never Dull, and now I love pepboys

Nevrdull is great stuff on chrome. I use Mothers aluminum polish on the engine cases, fork lowers and such. Simple Green and wax on the frame and Meguiars polish on the body paint.

Others probably have their own favorite chemical kits.

It doesn't really surprise me that much that a Harley dealer doesn't sell chrome polish. Remember, you first have to ride it so that it gets dirty before you need chrome polish. Most of the Harley buyers in the last few years don't ride em enough to get em dirty. My guess is chrome polish would be a slow moving item at a Harley shop.B)

My boss just this week bought a new HD, and had it sent to his other home in Colorado. I asked him why he didn't ride it there. His reply???
" I'm not sure if it would make it that far without breaking down" I thought I was gonna pi$$ myself.
He just paid 22K, and not sure?
Am guessing he won't be needing much of the chrome polish either...

LMAO ... 22K for a new vehicle and he wonders about dependability ... OMG ... why bother then ?

I just live down the road from Hale's Harley in Mansfield. I'm gonna have to stop in and see if they carry chrome polish

It was weird, they had like three kinds of "Harley Brand Oil" but nothing to polish chrome, they had a $12 bottle of engine brite (Looks like the same stuff pepboys sells for 3 bucks) but no chrome cleaner

I would have guessed the exact opposite, Gringo. The stereotype of cruiser riders is that they're obsessed with chrome and cleaning and polishing. The implication is that most of their bikes are driveway queens.

Maybe it's the polishing season and the HOG dealer was out of the stuff.

Sem t'ing....only I sub Autosol for Mothers. I also use Autosol on my chrome. The Nevr-Dull I use more as a protectant rather than a polish as such. The ND goes on after everything has been polished up using Autosol. It lasts about a month or so, not including washes. Luckily I live in a fairly dry climate....
