Extreme Frustration

Here is how awesome New Mexico is;

So I take the title for my new kz650 down to the DMV Express here in Santa Fe.
The lady behind the counter takes it from me, looks it over then says she cant do anything with it. Reason being this, the seller (lets call him John Q Public) had written his printed name as John Q Public, he had signed his name J Q Public and the front of the title read J Q Public. So even though his signature and the front of the title matched, I couldn't register because the printed name was his full name.
I'm going to go down to the real DMV tomorrow and argue until I get bored. I might have to wait and try to get a signed affidavit from the seller...

yeah i had to go through about the same once. what a friggin headache it was.

I swore at that moment in time that i would NEVER EVER rebuild another bike "no matter what" before getting the motorcycle put into my name period.

Lucky for me the seller is a good guy and I'm still in communication with him.
I just hope I don't have to involve him

A year after acquiring the 650B I finally got around to doing the titling stuff. Mind you this started out as a signed title procured by a third party and I filled out the rest. I was a bit concerned, but once it passed the VIN inspection it was smooth sailing. :)

She's mine. All mine! B)
