A little more done.
Took the rear wheel, shocks and swingarm off.

I believe there's a bushing, and that washer, that needs to still come off the top shock mount, as the original shocks will not fit.

More stuck pieces.

Did manage to get the bushings off the top shock mount.

Discussing jetting with someone, and the carb manifolds I bought from China, $30 for 4, part # 16065-1131.
He's asking questions over the phone, and we determine the engine is not a 1000R2 engine.
I assumed it was the original engine when I bought her, so didn't look closely at the engine.

The volume cast is 1.089 litres.

The engine # is KZT10BE034447

Stats I find make this an '84 KZ1100R Engine, which started with # 29301.

He says it could be a GPz1100 engine, but I so far have not found a list of GPz1100 engine numbers.

Rob,
zedder ( zedder.com/msg1.htm ) lists the starting frame and engine numbers for GPZ1100 bikes from 81-85 Some have a range and not just the starting number. The engine number you posted falls within what is listed for the 84 ZX1100 A2 GPZ    zedder.com/Info/84%20ZX1100-A2%20GPz.htm

I cleaned up the stock shocks and put them back on.
Will likely get some new shocks...

Got a new rear tire installed, and bought a new cush drive, as there was a lot of movement with the old cush drive.

Installed the axle and all the bits on the wheel, then loaded the wheel in from the backside.
So much easier than trying to slide the axle through while holding everything in place.

Put the right side foot peg and mount back on, including the brake pedal.
Looks so much better than before.

Some more work done on the front end.
i gave the front wheel another cleaning.

I believe the rotors are going to need replacement.
I've got to get some calipers to measure them, as my flat jaw calipers are of no use, as there's a lip the full thickness on the outter most edge.

The fork ears needs some attention.

That's A great project bike, I did my carbs a few years ago, I silicone plugged them and Taped up the inlet , you can buy a plug kit on amazon they are cheap. after I stripped, I resprayed. I used a satin k2 paint . sending pics to show how they came out to give you a look at the satin , Gloss black was to glossy in my opinion. Just in case you are refinishing the carbs so you can get an idea of the satin black , I will keep a look out for this one, Cheers

Your carbs look great Rich.

The front wheel got new bearings and seals, and rebalanced.

The forks are apart for cleaning.
The bottoms had lots of stone chips, so got panted.

The rear caliper, which was painted some weeks back, got new seals, new piston and pads, and reinstalled.

I've borrowed an Ultrasonic Cleaner from a friend.
The carbs will be getting baths over the next few days.

Occasionally, my grand daughter will come into the Workshop and help.

The fork ears got painted.
Look more glossy in the picture than they ended up when dried.

The forks have two springs, instead of the one shown in parts diagrams.
Also there is an adjustable limitter between the springs.
Anyone seen these adjusters before?

Got a sneak peak at the tail and fender I sent off to be painted.
I haven't picked them up yet, but saw this post on FB.

Had a go at recovering the seat.
The cover on there has tears in the corners.

Got the new cover on.
My fingers need a rest.
Tomorrow I will try to get rid of a few wrinkles.
