The blasting really makes things look new again! Did you paint your front brake MC? Very hard to find da nice anodized one nowadays.
Note those fork end caps...no arrows!

18 Aug 2022 06:07I havent painted the front MC, the seal is gone but Im planning to buy a new repro 5/8 one - theyre surprisingly cheap compared to buying a rebuild kit.
Whats the joke about the arrows ??

Yep! I bought a new MC for my 650 rebuild. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was.
There was a discussion about arrows on another thread.

The fork caps are fairly easy to work out as you go along - particularly if you have the workshop manual open as you do things.

One of the funny things that you tend to do when your doing a project is to be determined to fix things yourself, even when the process costs you more money than if you just paid a shop to do it in the first place ! I think thats where I'm at with this spark plug helicoil after having bought a complete kit, then having to buy a packet of 10 inserts just to do one !
Anyhow, the helicoil fix should be next, and I picked up the starter gear pin from the Kwaka dealer so a working starter motor could be in this bikes future.

19 Aug 2022 00:22You are right however, the other 9 inserts won't eat or drink anything and the next time you have a problem you won't have to wait a week to get it doneOne of the funny things that you tend to do when your doing a project is to be determined to fix things yourself, even when the process costs you more money than if you just paid a shop to do it in the first place !
