Bodywork all ready to go.
Had no time to work on the bike lately.
Super happy with the paint job they did at the autobody shop. He took his time and did a great job for me.

That does seem to be a nice paint job! BTW, those are 1982 style mirrors, not 1981...and if those are EMGO replacement mirrors (very similar to OEM mirrors) then the heads spin all the way around to make either right or left-handed mirrors. The OEM mirrors are right or left-handed.

I do know I had to get little LH/RH adapters to make them fit so you're right these are aftermarket
They are brand new but don't know the brand. They seem well made to me and I'm pleased with them.

Had some tie to work on the restoration project over the weekend.
I cleaned the forks and installed new fork seals then added 20W fork oil
Then the new steering head bearings and installed triple clamps, oil cooler and some other small parts.
also installed and new Kawasaki throttle tube and 2 Kawasaki grips.

I'll rebuild the 3 calipers next since I have new seal kits here waiting.

Looking good Steve! I'm sure you'll have it ready to go by Spring, which will probably show up around the beginning of July this year. ;)
I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth.

The odd day here and there and I should have it done in a few more weeks.

Damn, there's lots of parts on a fuel injected bike.!

I hope to have almost no parts left over. That's the plan.

But I know from past restorations that just never happens.

That and will it still run.

Looks amazing. Did you paint the headlight cover?

I did paint it yes. It's factory painted anyway by the looks of it.
There were the usual marks from the speedo bumping it as the rubber grommets got worn.
I put new ones on the signals too.
The back of the speedo cluster is NOS, I got it from Ebay.

Looking really special Steve, nice attention to detail. Seems like woodworkers have a talent for working on bikes. I can't wait until I get to the island next time but unfortunately it won't be with any of my bikes. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Kawboy, I didn't go super perfect but it's pretty good and I'm pleased so far.
If you do ever get to the Sunshine Coast you will have to for sure let me know. The winding HWY here is very nice.
And a couple or sweet Kawsaki's riding it is always a good thing to see.
