Footrests. Left metal on right side in case i need exhaust mount but mist if not all will be cut away. Secong pic shows where a bung on each side needs to go. Third is the chopped fairing. Not 100 % on it, but it is a gauges and headlight problem solver
Can I convince you to paint it flat black?

Sweet, like the chopped peg hangers. Was thinking about doing that to one of my bikes.

well.....the seat will not do. Too cafe boy street racer and too round. The fairing shown will also not be used for the same 2 reasons. now I am leaning towards no fairing but 2 large frame mounted headlights. we shall see.

I did get KZ stem into the Vf750 triple today, although I did it the taboo way. If I had pressed out the VF stem, the hole left would have been too big for the KZ stem, so, I cut the VF stem off flush and then necked the KZ stem down to fit inside the leftover part of the VF stem. Then i machined all 3 surfaces down to nice and tidy and ran a bead of weld in a circle. I know you are not supposed to do this, but the KZ stem is really beefy and I only removed .5 mm or so. worked nicely and I am happy. now onto the back. Gotta make a new spacer but no big deal, BUT....can anyone tell me at what angle the swingarm can go to before it becomes a problem with chain run (up and down) ? I want to move the mounts forward, but I am afraid of sawing my fabu arm in half with the chain.

here she sits

progress is so slow. Only new stuff is the fact that I decided to use an internal baffle inside the link pipe and run no can at all. (I hope I can jet around this) Also decided on a frame mount dual headlight set up and no fairing. Still stymied on the seat...........

Just finalizing the measurements to take metal off sprocket carrier and make suitable spacers. No big hurdles there. Havent decided to use VF750 or KZ rear brake, prolly use the one that gives me the least amount of jib. other than that I need head bearings and wiring, and it should be a complete roller. The jetting was 95% there with a horrible can, so I am at worse, close.

Still not sure about seat. Has anyone ever used one of these on a later KZ frame. (its close, but not completely optimal)

Isn't that a Honda style tail?

You need something like the H2R2 seat that fits the KZ frame:
