Put them on your gauges and see what each carb is doing. It could be cam timing but I doubt it. Uploading a vid. I'll look at yours when it's done.

I bought brand new flatslides and they sounded like that...could never get used to it. I sold them and went back to my 33 smoothbores. Definitely sounds like something else is wrong though. Checking the sync with vacuum would be a good start. Very strange....

My lead carb was way up while #4 was close behind. The other two were low. Popping out of the carbs and running like bad sparks. Made the vacuum even and it all went away. :)

The flat slide clacking doesn't bother me. It goes away when you get off idle anyway. I will try putting my gauges on and see whats up there. I think I will pull the cam cover and double to make sure my cam timing is correct also.

Yes, that's what makes it a head scratcher.

Float levels are as good as I can get them without being able to do a clear tube test. That is the only thing I don't like about the RS carbs.

Do they have the main jet cap like my 33's? I was looking at rubber corks at the hardware store. Easy enough to make a tester.

Hmmm, a cork may work. I also thought about tapping and putting a nipple in it.

JetsRus has caps for the Miks. They might have one for yours too. I made my own but one of them would be a better tool.

Jon, what are those ports on the side of the carbs? My 33's won't run for SHT without my air box.
