@swest MK2 crank and stator are totally different and early cover won’t fit ..

That's right. The cover would bolt on but the innards are different. My bad.

Started with getting hold of the old drag bike at the beginning of this thread that was for sale here in the UK and now here it is 8 years later!! Lots of changes but fundamentally the same old drag bike but now registered and back on the road....

10psi on the 196 with the old F40 Rayjay with the original bendix zenith. Some work to do on the fuelling bottom end and mainly want to figure out where I am with the ignition timing as this was an initial “ guess” Got no plate on the vertex so unsure of advance at the moment. Will set the initial static up and take it from there

Running original RC engineering turbo plenum, headers and wastegate with a Rayjay F40 turbo. Carbs an ATP Bendix with added Thunderjet circuit running 4psi fuel pressure
No water or Alcohol injection but have a vintage ATP unit I might fit
Sunoco Maxnos 119 fuel
Stock 900 hollow cams with flowed head standard size valves
Plugs are NGK B9ES
Nitrous is fitted and ready to go!
Basic motor details are -
Motors built around early 73 cases
all balanced and blueprinted
MK2 Crank welded and balanced
APE Main bearing support and crank bolts
5qt full deep sump modded pump
Vertex magneto ignition Taylor made leads
MRE gearbox billet second gear
windage tray
1327 MTC big block with modified stepped liners and 7.8:1 turbo pistons (Needed lots of balancing)
Flowed and ported head
Stock cams with slotted sprockets
Liska Cam chain gears
Stainless valves Underbucket shims Ti spring retainers
APE studs and head bolts
MRE lockup clutch with standard plates and springs
APE clutch mushroom with PMC easy actuator

Looks like you are well on your way to having a real runner.
250 HP is a very easy safe bet. before the nitrous hits
I changed mine over to the Mikuni 42mm flat slide some years ago and I find it to be a winner.
