arm gogbone and linkage odd an 03 ZX6 the shock is a 02 zx7 if I remember right

It stiffened up alot compared to where it was at I'm sure my son and daughter inlaw are barelt 250 lbs me and my ol loady are closer to 350

I appreciate any help or insight you can come up with i noticed it most when coming off a couple bridges when it dips i felt it, it wasn't bad but enought to rub paint and of course get into the bracket.

I paid 25.00 on ebay with shipping for the shock may just need a newer one

02-05 ZX12 and 04-05 ZX10 should work. It will change your ride height but adjustable links will bring that back and you get the higher rising spring rate. Hope that helps.

When shocks are bottoming, the usual remedy is setting a higher spring pre-load.

Where bottoming persists at maximum pre-load, stiffer spring(s) may be required.

Sometimes, higher compression damping (where adjustable) may also reduce bottoming, provided the shock isn't leaking or worn out.

Good Fortune! :)

Hey, Ram. Just sat here and read the entire thread! 3 hours and a pot of coffee. It is quite a transformation your ride has taken and it gives me great hope for mine.

What is the advantage of the front end swap? I'm guessing better handling and ride? Will the rake be different?

I'm making progress on my '78 A2A. Mostly repairing bad wiring jobs, finding minor leaks, replacing old fluids, etc. I'm ready to buy a new rear tire and would love a big fat one like you have but I'm going to stick with the same size 140/70 that's on it now.

Here's few pics. I'm going with black everything except 'tupperware' which I haven't decided on a color yet. I am not a fan of chrome in general.

Thanks fivestring really like the all black thing. I was brought up on chrome so I am a little partial to it just just too poor indulge myself.

The front end swap quite frankly is for esthetics. I'm sure the geometry will change some it's funny though because the rearend swap although ony couple inches different in length has seemed to make the bike work completely different. and has enhanced the ridability tremendously, if the front end swap is as successful the bike should be a dream to ride. (it already is 1000% better)

I'm sure I will get some hate mail but a 78 model bike no matter whats been done to the engine rides like a 78 model bike.

I love the new age fusion of the swap streatfighter or whatever ypu call it just works works keeping the 70's stying and bringing it into modern retro look that so far has made it more fun to ride.

Thanks for the comments!
It's an LTD headlight bracket, it doesn't need modified to mount but I did have to open up the holes to a 1/2" where the bucket mounts so the turnsignals would fit. I used the short turnsignal stems and machined the little diamond shaped area down to 1/2" then mounted them the same way a KZ does on the headlight. Made for a pretty sturdy setup.

Crazy isn't it, the size difference is huge. Makes you wander how the old forks lasted as long as the did taking the abuse they did. :P
