Here is the z1 in the state that I am receiving her. I'm not sure what I have in store yet. Mostly going to use her as a rat bike for a little bit while I accumulate the funds for a little project.

1973 Z1 900. Currently ratty. Black Mac Performance 4-1 canister exhaust. Emgo Pod Filters, LTD Seat, 3 point crash bars, big ass touring screen. Work in progress.

Have fun with the project I got my 73 z1 running after 14 years of sitting. It took 7 months, untold dollars, and hours upon hours in the evening after work. Now I can enjoy the fruits of my labor. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. Keep us posted on the progress.

P.S. The knowledge of the members of this site are a valuable asset to doing the project. Congrats on the Z1

Since it's a 73 I would think long and hard about cutting anything like the frame and what not. The 73's are worth a ton of money if they are not cut up.

If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?

looks like you're doing a great job. so finish it and get out there and do what they were meant to do with, ride the snot out of them.on the subject of cutting or not, just brace them in the right spots and you will be fine.regardless of what they are worth you own the ride so do what you want.i've owned my 75 Z1 since day one and bought another several years later and still have them both.and they both havebeen raked and braced since the seventy's. great bike's to ride. enjoy have a good one. just my 2 1/2 cents worth.wonderful job you are doing.
